We believe its children who will transform the lives of horses, just as horses transform lives of people.  Incorporating holistic horse management philosophies we hold kids camps holiday programmes where hundreds of children learn NHS groundwork and riding skills. Riding barefoot and bit-free horses in treeless saddles around the beautiful environs of Woodhill Forest and Muriwai Beach.

These camps are available for girls and boys of every age and level of experience. These camps are perfect for non-riding as well as riding children. Children will learn to be safe on and around horses & about the games horses play with each other! Games of respect, boundaries, relationships, leadership and trust.  All of which are great metaphors for life!!! We have a wide variety of other animals for children to connect with plus we are running equine assisted learning activities (all non riding) which gives them confidence with others and a better attitude towards themselves whilst building relationships, self esteem and stimulating their leadership skills and lateral thinking!!!  Plus it keeps them out of the malls and off the streets!!

During your stay you will: develop sound groundwork skills which will be incorporated into your flatwork riding, jumping lessons and trekking; learn how to work a horse at liberty; observe the interaction of a large herd of horses and ponies; learn the basics of round pen and rope work skills; experience “horse starting” and watch a barefoot horse being trimmed and learn about holistic horse management and hoofcare.

This is a fun experience where children experience a deeper connection with their ponies (or ours) and each other including: use of horse/pony or grazing if you bring your own horse, accommodation, meals, tuition, supervised guided rides to lake, forest and beach.  Lake swimming weather permitting.

Arrive 12 noon Monday (please supply lunch for child on Monday) - finish Friday 2pm.

The price for the camp is $480 all inclusive.  Parents are welcome to watch their children ride on Friday at 10am
